Wattcast publishes Nord Pool day-ahead electricity prices for the EE, FI, LV and LT bidding zones and a statistical forecast of those prices for the coming days. The forecast is unofficial and for information only. It is an estimate produced by a machine-learning model and, for the written outlook, by a language model; it is not a guarantee of future prices and not financial, energy-purchasing or investment advice.
Wattcast accepts no liability for decisions taken or losses incurred on the basis of the data, the forecast or the written outlook. The service is provided as is, without warranty of availability, accuracy or fitness for a purpose, and may change or stop at any time.
Settled prices are Nord Pool day-ahead prices from Elering or directly from Nord Pool. All prices are shown without network fees and, unless the VAT toggle is on, without VAT.
Privacy
- The website has no user accounts, advertising scripts or tracking cookies. Built-in usage statistics are described below.
- Your interface preferences (zone, language, unit, VAT toggle) are kept in your browser's local storage only and are not sent to the server as a preference profile. If you open the optional Telegram link, the selected zone, language and VAT preference are included in that link to prefill the bot's settings.
- The server keeps aggregated request statistics per hour (endpoint, zone, status code, response time). Unique visitors are counted with a salted daily hash of the IP address; raw IP addresses are not stored in the statistics. We also count visible page views and control interactions without tracking cookies or browser identifiers, and use User-Agent heuristics to separate likely bots. These counts use daily IP hashes. Standard web-server logs may retain IP addresses for a short period for abuse prevention.
- The admin page can exclude the current browser from future built-in usage statistics. This saves a first-party
preference cookie,
wattcast_stats_excluded=1, for up to one year. It contains no unique identifier. Exclusion covers page loads, API requests and browser events on this site, including other tabs in the same browser profile. It does not remove earlier statistics or disable abuse-prevention logs and request limits. Re-enable counting in admin or clear the cookie to remove the exclusion. - Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts; Google's privacy policy applies to that request.
- We do not sell visitor data. Optional Telegram delivery is described below.
Optional Telegram digest
The free bot delivers a daily price digest only after you choose zones and enable the subscription. Telegram processes your interactions under its own privacy policy. Wattcast stores your Telegram chat ID, chosen zones, language, VAT preference and subscription status. It does not store your name, username, phone number or incoming message text. Outgoing messages and delivery status are retained for up to 14 days to prevent duplicates and investigate failures.
Use /settings to change preferences, /stop to unsubscribe, or /delete
to erase your settings and delivery records. A deletion acknowledgement may remain queued for up to 24 hours
if delivery fails. Older copies may remain in the service's rotating database backups (normally 14 daily copies).
Restarting the bot does not itself opt you in. Published prices and forecast estimates are labelled separately;
delivery times depend on source availability.
API terms
- The JSON API under
/v1/is free to use without a key at up to 60 requests per minute per IP address. Higher limits are available with an API key on request. - Please cache responses (they are served with
Cache-Control: max-age=60) and do not poll more often than the data changes: settled prices change once a day, the forecast once an hour. - When you display Wattcast data, attribute it as “Wattcast” with the underlying sources: Nord Pool day-ahead prices via Elering / Nord Pool Data Portal, weather from Open-Meteo.com (CC BY 4.0).
- The API is offered without a service-level agreement. Endpoints, limits and formats may change; breaking changes
will be announced on this page and in
/docswhere practical. - Abuse (scraping beyond the limits, attempts to disrupt the service) may lead to blocking without notice.
