Why: Lithuania shares Latvia's price almost every hour, so the Plavinas hydro outage this weekend (900 MW out Saturday and Sunday) hits both. Elektrėnai unit 9 (455 MW) is in maintenance until 24 November, NordBalt exports are capped at 300 MW but imports from Sweden stay at 700, and LitPol trading capacity is 150 MW. Gas at 98 €/MWh puts a combined-cycle plant near 21 ct and a peaker at 31; from Monday Sweden's export to Finland is cut to 400 MW. Wind: 20 km/h Saturday, 12 Sunday, 13 Monday, 22–26 Tuesday to Friday, with first frosts (−1 °C) from Thursday.
Practical: Until Monday the only cheap hours are 00–05 (12–13 ct); avoid 08–10 and 16–20 (18–27 ct). From Tuesday night 00–06 drops to 5–8 ct; shift flexible loads to Tuesday–Thursday nights.
Main risk: The chart carries +0.5 to +1.5 ct Saturday, +1.5 to +2.5 Sunday and +4.5 to +5 Monday in daytime and evening hours, aligning Lithuania with Latvia. A calmer Monday than forecast brings 30 ct mornings like Thursday; a faster front makes Tuesday 3–5 ct cheaper.

Frequently asked questions
What is the electricity spot price in Lithuania?
The spot price is the wholesale exchange price for electricity in the selected bidding zone and delivery interval. A spot-price contract follows those intervals; a fixed-price contract follows your supplier's agreed tariff. The chart separates published day-ahead prices from Wattcast forecasts.
How much does 1 kWh of electricity cost?
Use the chart to see the price for the hour or 15-minute interval when you consume electricity. 10 EUR/MWh equals 1 cent/kWh. Multiply the price per kWh by your consumption in kWh to estimate the energy cost. Your bill also depends on taxes, network fees and your supplier's charges.
Why does the electricity price change, and can it be negative?
Demand, wind and solar generation, fuel costs, power plant availability and cross-border connections affect prices. Prices can fall below zero when supply is abundant relative to demand. A negative exchange price does not necessarily mean a negative final bill: network fees, taxes and contract terms still apply.
When is electricity cheapest?
Usually at night between about 01:00 and 05:00 and, on windy or sunny days, around midday. The cheapest-windows tool on this page lists the exact hours for today, tomorrow and the next 48 hours.
When are tomorrow's prices published?
Nord Pool publishes the day-ahead prices every day at about 13:45 EET (12:45 CET). Wattcast shows them within 15 minutes; the forecast covers the days after that.
How accurate is the forecast?
The forecast is statistical: a machine-learning model trained on price history and weather forecasts. The Accuracy page shows the mean absolute error per horizon, both from backtests and from the forecasts actually published. The p10–p90 band is designed to contain the settled price about 80% of the time.
Do the prices include VAT and network fees?
No. The exchange price is shown without VAT (a toggle adds it), network fees, excise or the supplier's margin. Your bill adds those on top of the exchange price.
